Since its first edition in 2013, MEDI’NOV has gradually become part of the minds of professionals in the medical sector. Indeed, this trade show, dedicated to the Medtech sector, brings together medical device manufacturers, subcontractors and suppliers. This human-sized event encourages interaction between these different populations. To this end, conferences, “innovation” pitches and a visit to the exhibitor space will take place over two days, from March 25 to 26, 2020. The conferences will focus on innovative processes and materials, medical device regulation and finally connected medical devices. They will aim to inform about the current market and present the latest innovations.

Since the year 2000 and its creation, PolymerExpert has developed numerous medical devices. For the ophthalmology sector, PolymerExpert has worked on innovative intraocular implants. For example, we have created photochromic implants (Patent EP 1753838). These implants ensure the visual comfort of patients after surgery by reducing the sun’s glare. Also for the ophthalmology sector, PolymerExpert has worked in partnership with one of its customers on shape memory meatic plugs. Used in cases of dry eye, these umbrella-shaped plugs are easily deployed in the meatus canal.

These numerous activities in the ophthalmological field are the reason for the creation of a PolymerExpert subsidiary: Innolens. Created in 2015, it specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of medical devices. Two CE-marked intraocular implants and two viscous solutions are currently marketed to surgeons worldwide.

PolymerExpert has also developed bone cements for vertebroplasty (patents EP 2788039 and WO 03086327). Its team has redesigned the entire injection system for the maintenance of hip prostheses. The gun, cartridges and cement were redesigned to provide a turnkey system for surgeons.

PolymerExpert has been involved in bringing many medical devices to market. This is why participating in the MEDI’NOV exhibition is extremely important to meet manufacturers looking for innovative polymers.
